Interior Security Department of Khalifa Haftar’s militias conducted a number of civilians in Benghazi over reports that showed them in favor of Benghazi Shura Council. Sources from Benghazi said most of the arrested persons, who amounted to 70, were from Alleethi and Bu Atni neighborhoods, saying the arrests crossed t other blocks ion the city.

Protest in Al-Hariga oil port in Tobruk has come to a halt after the Speaker of the Tobruk-based House of Representatives, Aqilah Saleh, promised the protesters to grant them their demands very soon. Al-Hariga port has resumed work Tuesday.

The UN-proposed government’s Presidential Council has requested LYD1.5 billion from the Central Bank of Libya as per the rules it works by, saying the Ministry of Finance will issue bonds for the money allocated for every institution. The PC urged the CBL to put the 1.5 billion in the emergency account in three installments; the first must be an immediate installment of half a billion, it added.

Mohammed Jodran, the elder brother of Ibrahim Jodran, who is the Chief of Petroleum Facilities Guard, described the conditions inside the notorious Gurnada Prison, from which he recently left, as catastrophic. Jodran added that he underwent all kinds of physical and psychological torture and he was treated in a very cruel way while being inside the prison.

A number of Derna residents and civil society activists have entered an open strike in protest of the siege laid by Khalifa Haftar’s forces to their city. Haftar’s militias have been besieging the city of Derna for long enough now, banning all foods, fuel, gas, cash and other stuff from making their way into the city and disallowing ambulances to get out of the city and go to the neighboring ones.

Sources from Benghazi reported that Shura Council’s artillery force shelled Tuesday Benina Air Base in Benghazi, pointing out that a relative calm has descended on most of the fight axes, except for Garyonis frontline, which saw some fresh clashes this morning.

Internet and mobile communications have been restored in the central region of Libya after a day of breakdown. Misrata, Zliten, Misillatah, Khomis and Tarhouna were all affected by the breakdown. Reason still unknown.

The classification of Defend Benghazi Brigades, Monday, ignited a heated argument in the final day of Libyan dialogue meeting held on July 16-18 at the luxury Golden Tulip Hotel in Tunisia. Loyalists to Dignity Operation, mainly from the eastern region, wanted to condemn Defend Benghazi Brigades and classify them as terrorists in the final statement of the 3-day meeting.

Derna Shura Council has paid blood money to the families of 10 people who were killed during the city's 8-month-long war against ISIS. A Bangladeshi national was among the victims, the council said.
