Russian-Gulf summit

Moscow saw the conclusion of the 6th ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue between Russia and the Gulf Cooperation Council, with an emphasis on the need to preserve the interests of the Libyan people.

The summit stressed the importance of achieving security and development in Libya, urging non-interference in its internal affairs and respecting its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

Calling for the exit of all foreign forces and mercenaries from the country, the group voiced their support for the efforts of the UN Envoy Abdoulaye Bathiy in bringing Libyan parties together to reach a solution and achieve elections.

In its closing statement, the bloc welcomed the consensus reached by the 6+6 Committee formed by the House of Representatives and the High Council of the State regarding the laws regulating the presidential and legislative elections.
