Around 5,000 homes in Al-Bayda city suffered damage due to the impact of Strom Daniel on eastern Libya last Sunday, the Housing and Utilities Projects Implementation Agency of Al Jabal Al Akhdar Office has said.
The region needs maintenance and rehabilitation of about 35 km of damaged roads and 20 km of main rainwater drainage lines, an initial report released by the office says.
The flooding has also caused water supply disruptions in various municipalities due to the collapse of underground wells, which led to a breakdown in the water system, according to the Housing Agency.
