The UNSMIL deputy head for political affairs, Stephanie Williams, said that Libya's economic reforms are a priority and should be carried out as soon as possible to improve the living conditions of all citizens.

This came during a meeting with deputy head of the Presidential Council (PC) Ahmed Maiteeq, Saturday, at the Prime Minister's Office in Tripoli.

The UN mission explained via its Twitter account that the meeting discussed the government's economic reform package.

For its part, the Information Office of the Presidential Council clarified on Facebook that Williams renewed during the meeting the UNSMIL support for the implementation of the reform plan of the Presidential Council and the Central Bank of Libya in coordination with the parties concerned, including measures to address the economic crisis and restore financial balance.
