The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) held a workshop on “safety and security when handling weapons and ammunition” during the period November 28 to 30 in Tunisia, with the participation of 11 local monitors under the 5+5 Joint Military Committee (JMC) and members of mine action subcommittees.

“The participants commended the technical support provided by the UN Mine Action Service (UNMAS) to ensure the preparedness of the Libyan counterpart for the implementation of the ceasefire mechanism and called for maintaining a regular exchange of expertise with UNSMIL”, the UNSMIL said on its X platform page.
