The United States Embassy in Libya commended the efforts of local partners who have implemented cultural heritage preservation initiatives in Libya.

The embassy said in a post on Thursday on its Facebook page on the occasion of World Heritage Day, that the initiatives that came through the Ambassadors Fund for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (AFCP) and the bilateral agreement between the United States and Libya aimed at safeguarding cultural heritage in Libya.

The embassy praised the Ghat Community Museum, which was developed in partnership with the Ghat Women's Union to showcase traditional crafts and local artifacts, and the Tokra Project, which is a joint effort with local partners aimed at protecting heritage sites from the effects of climate change.
