The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock handed over to the World Food Program (WFP) a booklet that included the sector’s vacancies and requirements at this stage and requested it to be an important document and a letter of joint cooperation.
This came during a meeting with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Hussein Al-Gotrani, in his office, with the Regional Director of the World Food Programme, Tariq Al-Jundi.
The Minister of Agriculture expressed his wishes to implement the tasks agreed upon with the World Food Program through the memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides for the years 2023-2025.
During the meeting, the two sides emphasized that the activities of the World Food Program should be carried out through the permanent office in Libya, and the Minister stressed the necessity of conveying this matter to the officials of the program, especially since Libya had many roles with this humanitarian organization on the one hand, and on the other hand because of Storm Daniel disaster in Derna, and the current rise in groundwater levels in the municipality of Zliten.
The Regional Director of the World Food Program promised that he would make every effort to achieve it through communication with countries and institutions related to the program’s work.
