The National Oil Corporation (NOC) confirmed on Friday that it has no standing or relationship of any kind with the Emirati businesswoman and fashion designer, Hend Al-Qasimi.
This came as a response to the participation of Al-Qasimi in CC Forum Monaco Forum on Global Investment in Sustainable Development as an alleged member of the Libyan NOC and the Military Investment Authority.
The NOC said in a statement that it is in the process of contacting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Ministry of Oil and Gas, in order to swiftly communicate with the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in order to provide clarification on the alleged membership.
Sources said that Al-Qasimi participated in the forum in her capacity as a member of the former parallel oil corporation in eastern Libya and a member of the Military Investment Authority run by warlord Khalifa Haftar’s sons.
