Ghadames Municipal Council strongly condemned the "criminal act" that targeted Ghadames General Hospital on Thursday, saying in a statement that "the building was subjected to gunfire near the intensive care unit and the maternity and gynecology department, endangering the lives of patients and medical staff and constituting a blatant violation of the sanctity of health facilities and human rights."

The municipality called on security authorities to "urgently open an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident and hold the perpetrators accountable according to the law," stressing "the need to protect healthcare facilities from any acts of violence or violations."

Following this attack, the management of Ghadames General Hospital announced that "hospital operations will be limited to emergency and life-saving cases until the security issue within the hospital is resolved."  It urged all parties to "prioritize reason and dialogue and avoid anything that could endanger innocent lives or disrupt healthcare services."
