The Deputy Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mossa Al-Koni, participated Thursday in the 15th BRICS Summit, in the presence of a number of world leaders and officials.

During his speech on behalf of the Arab Maghreb Union, which is currently chaired by Libya, Al-Koni stressed the need to work for cooperation with "the countries of the first world", according to his description, to help the countries of the Maghreb and Africa to overcome their economic crises and achieve sustainable development through fair financing and strategic partnership between Africa and BRICS.

The Presidential Council said Al-Koni would attend later on Thursday a meeting between African leaders and China to discuss partnerships and development.

The Summit, which ends Thursday, aims to realize the full potential of BRICS for comprehensive global economic recovery and sustainable development, to strengthen mutually beneficial partnerships with Africa and the Global South in a multipolar world, in addition to promoting peace operations, protecting the environment, and confronting the dangers of climate change.
