Sources from Libya's Misrata reported that "Salafi Madkhalists" in the city had exhumed the grave of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Saadawi - the grandfather of the prominent figure of the Libyan independence in 1951, Basheer Al-Saadawi.

One of Ahmed's grandson - Fathallah - said on Facebook that the grave of his grandfather in Zamoura had been exhumed, saying the grave dates back hundreds of years and is an iconic asset to their family and tribe.

"One person was arrested and two other were identified as the ones who did this crime." He added.

He also called on Misrata's residents to unite against "the criminals and those three people in particular so they face the right punishment.

In January 2018, members of the same religious sect "Salafi Madkhalism" exhumed in Kufra city the grave of Imam Al-Mahdi bin Mohammed bin Ali Al-Senussi - the founder of Senussisim in Africa and the father of Libya's monarch Idriss Al-Senussi.
