The First Vice Prime Minister of Libya, Hussein Al-Gotrani, has called on the House of Representatives, Government of National Unity as well as the parliamentary roadmap committee to devise a roadmap with a specified timeline to tackle all the current challenges to holding elections.

Speaking in a video statement on Sunday, Al-Gotrani said he had been doing his job to find solutions that build bridges among disagreeing parties from the legislative and executive authorities so that they can agree on a clear roadmap in order to be able to focus on providing services to the people and pave the way for fair and credible elections whose results are acceptable to all.

"This is a critical situation that we are in now. All national parties are required to make concessions for the greater good of the nation. It's time Libya moved forward to national reconciliation and unity." Al-Gotrani added.

Later in the day, Al-Gotrani met with the Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, in Tripoli after he had returned to work from the capital following a period of boycotting and being based in eastern Libya in recent months.

Al-Gotrani and Dbeibah discussed the latest political developments and the ongoing situation in eastern Libya, according to a statement by the PM's media office.
