The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, has participated in the plenary session of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund, Friday, in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh.

The session was attended by World Bank President Ajay Banga, IMF Director General, Kristalina Georgieva, central bank governors and finance ministers of IMF and World Bank member states.

The meeting discussed the global economic and financial conditions and their impact on the economies of developed and developing countries, the measures required to reduce the level of poverty, and triggering sustainable development, in African countries.

The meeting also touched on the need to give a greater role to the countries of the continent in their representation in international monetary institutions, while it was agreed to support coordination efforts between the IMF and the World Bank in adopting economic and financial policies that maintain financial and monetary stability.
