The Libyan Oil and Gas Minister, Mohammed Oun, said the Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah and Head of Control Authority are the ones who can order the arrest of the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanallah to stop him from working and committing legal violations as well as the hiding of 10.900 billion dinars with foreign companies for over a year without demanding the interests, in addition to squandering the funds of the sustainable development projects.
Oun added ti reporters that his meeting with the Russian Minister of Energy in Qatar would be related to the statement issued by the US, UK, Italy, Germany and France in support of the NOC’s conduct, adding that the UK and US are intervening in a blatant and provocative way in the NOC situation for their own reasons, vowing that his ministry would put an end to such interventions.
“The joint statement of the five countries aims at regaining the royalties from the foreign companies worth over 10 billion dinars as they mentioned that they appreciated the NOC’s commitment to enhancing financial transparency.” Oun added.
The five countries’ embassies issued a statement Thursday in support of the independence and integrity of the NOC, while the Ministry of Oil and Gas denounced this statement and rendered it an intervention in Libyan domestic affairs.
