The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, met with Mustafa Ajaj, CEO of Schlumberger Libya, to discuss expanding cooperation in reactivating shut-in wells and developing oil fields using integrated solutions and modern technologies.

According to a statement published on the NOC’s official Facebook page, the meeting—held on Sunday—highlighted Schlumberger’s role in enhancing production capacity and studying comprehensive solutions aimed at achieving tangible results through efficient reservoir management.

The two sides also explored potential collaboration with the Oil Research Center, particularly in sharing expertise and supporting subsurface studies, as well as expanding Schlumberger’s operational footprint in Libya.

Suleiman stressed the importance of the company’s involvement in oil projects in southern Libya, especially at the Ubari site, given Schlumberger’s experience in training Libyan field personnel—particularly in handling submersible pumps—and in transferring and localizing technical knowledge in petroleum studies and research.

He also emphasized the importance of training national cadres and supporting social responsibility initiatives in the Wahat region, the Oil Crescent, and southwestern Libya.
