Misrata University achieved an international achievement by winning first place in the Start Cup Competition with the (SANAA) project in Turkey.
The international competition was held at Istanbul Aydin University in Turkey, as part of the programmes of the Union of Mediterranean Universities with the aim of enhancing academic and research cooperation between universities in the region.
The winning project was led by students Shaima Badi, a graduate of the Faculty of Engineering, and Tasneem Al-Dukali, a student at the Faculty of Medicine in Misarata, who worked on the project for 5 months under the supervision of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Misurata University.
SANAA aims to offer a solution to women's unemployment in Libya and to valorise the women artisanat. It is an e-commerce application specified to sell handmade products that market them according to customers’ preferences.
24 teams from 13 countries participated in the competition, presenting amazing ideas and projects.
