The Libyan Navy Information Office, announced that the Coast Guard rescued 121 illegal immigrants who were on board a rubber boat off the coast of Bu Kammash in the far west of the country.

The Media Office of the Libyan Navy said on their official Facebook page that the rescue operation took place on Wednesday evening after the motor of their boat broke down 18 miles north of Bu Kammash.

It noted that among the 121 migrants were 24 women and children of African nationalities.

The Media Office added that the migrants were transferred to the Tripoli Naval Base and to receive humanitarian and medical assistance before transferring them to the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency in Tripoli.
