The federal government in Nigeria announced the deportation of 145 illegal immigrants, including 119 women and 26 men, who were stranded inside Libya, as part of the International Organization for Migration’s Humanitarian Voluntary Return Initiative.
The Charge d'Affairs of the Nigerian Mission in Libya, Kabiru Musa, said in a statement on Tuesday that the returning migrants were being held in a number of detention centers in Libya, and they did not have any travel permits, as reported by the Nigerian Daily Post website.
