Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah discussed the possibility of establishing a gas pipeline from Nigeria to Europe, passing through Niger and Libya. 

Discussions occurred during a Thursday meeting with the Secretary-General of the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO), Omar Al-Farouq, who is visiting Tripoli to participate in the 2024 Energy and Economic Summit, scheduled for 13-14 January.

The meeting, which saw the participation of Minister of Oil and Gas Mohammed Aoun, covered several topics, primarily the establishment of the African Energy Bank to support petroleum industry projects and utilize the production of renewable energy on the continent.

The parties emphasized cooperation among member states to benefit from shared expertise and technology in the oil and gas industry, focusing on communication and involvement of technical parties at technical institutions of member states.
