The head of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Emad Al-Sayah, discussed, Tuesday, with the Ambassador of Japan to Libya, Shimomura Izuru, enhancing the commission's readiness for the upcoming municipal council elections through technical and advisory support.
A statement by the HNEC said the meeting was part of the international community's efforts to support the electoral process in Libya and to evaluate the HNEC's preparedness for the upcoming municipal council elections scheduled for this year.
The Ambassador and his accompanying delegation conducted a tour of the HNEC's HQ and were given a briefing on the organization's media centre facilities and equipment.
