Media outlets published a letter from the Minister of Oil and Gas to the head of the Administrative Control Authority concerning the authorization of the Sirte Oil Company to conclude a deal with the Dubai-based Mediterranean Sea Company.

The agreement allows Sirte Oil to purchase equipment and pipelines from Mediterranean Sea and transfer a 10 million deposit.

Minister of Oil Mohamed Aoun said the action contradicts the country's public policies, deeming it "a clear violation of law marked by a significant lack of transparency."

Aoun requested the intervention of the head of the Administrative Control Authority to review the procedures and enforce regulatory oversight.
