Mohammed Aoun, the Minister of Oil and Gas in the Government of National Unity, says he is considering the steps he will take following his suspension by the Administrative Control Authority on the backdrop of ongoing investigations into legal violations.

In a statement Wednesday, Aoun said the decision issued by the Administrative Control Authority did not entail any operational measures. Therefore, he preferred to wait to make any statements before the actual procedures commenced.

Aoun insisted that he has not committed any legal violations warranting an investigation, emphasizing that claims of wrongdoing are baseless.

It may be worth noting that Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah appointed Khalifa Abdul-Sadiq, the Deputy Minister of Oil, on Tuesday as Aoun's successor.
