The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) said on Monday that its governor, Seddik Elkabeer briefed the UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, on the bank's initiatives to further develop transparency and openness.

Elkabeer highlighted the bank's efforts in unifying the CBL and maintaining fiscal and monetary stability.

He also reviewed the cooperation initiatives with international parties and institutions to enhance the bank’s efforts in all fields.

For his part, Bathily welcomed the CBL's efforts throughout the past years and stressed the important role it plays in transparency development that the bank has openly adopted.

Bathily reiterated the UN's continued support for the efforts of the CBL and its readiness to assist in initiatives relating to integrity and transparency.
