The British Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, has confirmed her country support to create a safe and conducive environment for holding inclusive elections in Libya.

In her speech at the meeting of the Security Working Group emanating from the Berlin Conference and the Joint Military Commission 5 + 5 in the city of Benghazi, Hurndall called on Libyan leaders to carry out their responsibilities towards the Libyan people, stressing the need to adhere to the political process and hold elections to achieve stability.

The British ambassador renewed her country's support for stability and peace in Libya, stressing the importance of joint efforts to unify the military and security institutions.

She also indicated that her country was able to remove more than 8,000 mines throughout Libya, in addition to the provision of support for more than 40 projects in Libya to resolve conflicts and achieve peace.
