The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Saddek Elkaber, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met on Friday to explore avenues of collaboration in the banking sector between their nations.

A statement by the CBL said the meeting at the Turkish Presidential Complex in Istanbul was to gain insights into Libya's current economic, financial, and political landscape and address the hurdles encountered by the Central Bank amid governmental divisions.

Discussions also addressed "the CBL's role in upholding the country's financial resilience and fostering greater synergy in the banking realm.

Elkaber's recent participation in the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund in Washington was noteworthy. During these meetings, he engaged in a series of deliberations with international financial and banking entities.
