The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has announced the start of construction work on the South Tripoli power plant, with a production capacity of 1,320 megawatts. 

The power plant, which is being implemented by the Turkish company Garlic in cooperation with the German company Siemens under the supervision of the GECOL, will contribute significantly to increasing the production capacity for electricity production, according to the GECOL.
