The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, said he respects the aspirations of Libyans for holding elections as soon as possible, speaking in a meeting with several heads of foreign diplomatic missions in Tripoli on Tuesday about the latest political developments in the country.

The meeting saw discussions on the government’s plan “Returning Trust to People” to hold elections in June, which Dbiebah said was in line with the UNSMIL’s plan.

The ambassadors reiterated the need for holding successful elections, renewing support for the initiative of the UN Advisor, Stephanie Williams, to form a committee to devise a consensual constitutional basis for elections, Hokometna platform reported.
