The EU Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, has reaffirmed support for efforts to achieve a national consensus among all key parties in Libya during his meeting with the UN Envoy Abdoulaye Bathily.
Orlando highlighted the importance of all actors participating constructively in a meaningful political process and taking concrete steps towards holding elections to address the popular demand for legitimate institutions.
He welcomed Bathily's plans to continue communication with all sectors of society in the upcoming weeks to create a unified platform for reconstruction in Derna.
Ambassador Orlando stressed to Bathily the need for all parties involved to resolve disputes through dialogue and avoid any escalation.
