The European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell has congratulated Abdoulaye Bathily on his appointment as Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Libya and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.

"The European Union continues to fully support the efforts of the United Nations to find a Libyan-led political solution to the protracted crisis for the benefit of all Libyans," Borrell tweeted.

The British Embassy in Libya also congratulated Abdoulaye Bathily on his appointment, expressing in a tweet on its Twitter account, its aspiration to work with Bathily to further stability, unity and national elections in Libya.
