Misrata International Airport announced, on Saturday, the resumption of flights from the airport after completion of runway maintenance work as scheduled.
Airport administration explained in a statement that "flights will resume, starting from six o'clock Saturday morning, according to (NOTAM) issued by the Civil Aviation Authority," and the statement noted that the first flights were received in the new temporary arrival hall.
The runway maintenance work took two weeks to complete, as planned by the airport administration, which announced on May 13 the actual start of the third phase of airport runway maintenance.
