The Joint Security Force in Misrata has released Hafed Qadour, the foreign minister of the parallel government of Fathi Bashagha, after hours of detention on Thursday.

Qadour was among Bashagha’s convoy heading to Tobruk for the swearing-in ceremony when they were stopped at a security checkpoint for inspection, but things got worse after Qadour bodyguards opened fire at the security forces refusing to be searched.

Qadour and his escorts were arrested accordingly while the others were allowed to drive on.

Speaking to journalists after his release, Qadour said he was treated well but the way of his detention was frightening, extending his thanks to all who facilitated his release.
