The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, met in Washington on Tuesday with US Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Eric Meyer, and the US Special Envoy and Ambassador to Libya Richard Norland, in addition to representatives from the US Treasury and State Departments.

The Central Bank of Libya sais on its Facebook page that the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the US Treasury Department in Washington, D.C., discussed joint cooperation to combat money laundering and financing of terrorism.

The meeting also discussed the results of Article IV consultations with the International Monetary Fund and the efforts of the Central Bank of Libya, in partnership with the Government of National Unity, to invest in renewable energy and increase oil production rates.
