A delegation from the Greek company METKA arrived in the eastern city of Tobruk on Sunday to receive the piece of land on which the city’s new power plant will be constructed.

This comes as part of the agreement reached by METKA with Tripoli-based Presidential Council and the General Electricity Company.

The spokesman of the crisis and emergency committee in the municipality of Tobruk, Hassan al-Sharif, explained that the delegation examined the construction site of the gas-fired power plant to generate 740 megawatts of electricity.

He added that the Greek delegation approved the place that was near the seashore to ensure seamless supplies of fuel for the plant through oil tankers, noting that the equipment of the Greek company will reach Tobruk after 20 days.
