The Libyan Army Spokesman, Mohamed Gununu, said in a statement that the government forces managed to extend their control over 3 thousand square kilometers, within the space of a few hours by adhering to a strict military operation.

Gununu explained that their forces were able to take control of an Egyptian and Emirati arms arsenal, containing large quantities of ammunition and military equipment.

He also remarked that they had seized ten tanks and six Emirati armored vehicles in the liberated cities west of Tripoli, which had been used by Haftar and his loyalists in their operations against the capital.
