A group of 45 HSC members called on the Government of National Unity (GNU) to halt the expenditure of funds on festivities commemorating the anniversary of the revolution.

In a statement, the members said that public spending should be directed at improving living conditions and services.

The group pressed the government to allow citizens to celebrate the anniversary in their own way and provide resources to enhance the deteriorating conditions of those affected by the floods in Derna, the water crisis in Zliten, and the southern Libyan cities suffering from a lack of essential services.
