The Director General of Sabha International Airport, Al-Tahir Al-Bousaifi, has reported that they had obtained approval to resume international flights from Sabha Airport to Cairo.

Al-Bousaifi explained that the approval came after an Egyptian team visited the airport to assess its situation.

He also expected that the first flight would launch in the middle of next November via EgyptAir, with at least one or two flights per week.

It is noteworthy that international flights at Sabha Airport had stopped since 2012, and only voluntary return flights for illegal immigrants were operated from the airport, in addition to Hajj flights in 2022 and 2023.
