The number of migrants arriving in Italy from Tunisia and Libya is decreasing, says Italian Deputy Prime Minister/ Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani.

The head of Italy's diplomacy praised the United Nations and countries of origin for their positive response towards the migration issue, as well as those cooperating with measures to combat human trafficking, Nova news agency quoted him as saying on Monday.

He said the number of migrants arriving in Italy has decreased thanks to the intensive efforts, which brought in the "first positive results."

However, Tajani emphasized that there is still much to be done, including a lot of diplomacy, seriousness, and resolve.
