The Joint Military Committee (5 + 5) (JMC) and the UN ceasefire monitoring team have met in Tunisia to discuss procedures for evacuating mercenaries and foreign forces from Libyan territory.

The two-day discussion, which concluded on Saturday, touched upon ways to implement a Libyan-owned ceasefire monitoring mechanism.

On May 24, the JMC met for the first time with the security team of the EU Mission in Libya.

The EU mission described the meeting as a historic turning point reaffirming the bloc's readiness to support security in Libya.
