The Libyan Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus, Qwaider Ibrahim, met on Friday with the Director of the Cyprus Problem Department, Penelope Erotokritou, at the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Most important issues of common interest to both the State of Libya and the Republic of Cyprus were discussed at the meeting, especially the resumption of work of the Cypriot embassy in Tripoli, and economic cooperation, starting with organizing a Libyan-Cypriot investment forum, as well as education by focusing on reopening the Libyan School in Nicosia, and identify Cyprus as a destination for Libyan scholarships.
The meeting also discussed Islamic affairs in the Republic of Cyprus, which the Libyan embassy supervises, including the issue of maintaining mosques and establishing a cemetery for the Muslim community.
