The Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohammed Al-Hawij, has announced holding discussions with the World Trade Organization (WTO) to progress from observer status to full membership.

Speaking to the Emirates News Agency during the 13th WTO Ministerial Conference in Abu Dhabi, Al-Hawij stressed the need for various stages and steps, including the formation of technical committees to assess the benefits of joining the WTO for the Libyan economy.

He stressed the importance of the conference in exploring future trade prospects worldwide, praising the UAE efforts in organizing the event to support the development of the WTO amidst the evolving digital economy.
