Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah on Tuesday phoned President Qais Saeed of Tunisia to discuss matters of mutual interest.
A statement by Hakomitna platform said that Dbeibah congratulated Saeed on the Eid al-Adha celebrations and discussed bilateral relations and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.
According to the Tunisian Presidency, the two leaders reviewed the illegal immigration file, agreeing on the need for concerted efforts and quick solutions.
President Saeed said the situation calls for a collective solution among all concerned countries, referring to his initiative that calls for holding a summit to address the phenomenon, which he said was aggravating daily.
