The head of the Libyan-Italian Committee for Combating Migration and Smuggling, Brigadier-General, Abdullah Toumia, has accused the European side of procrastination in honouring their commitment with the Libyan side.

In a press statement, Toumia warned the Europeans that Libya’ patience may run out unless they find a solution to the voluntary repatriation of migrants, adding the EU side had been notified of the difficulties facing Libya Coast Guard in rescue operations .

He also warned the European Union of the repercussion of rescue operation halt by the Libyan Coast Guard.

“Only then the EU would find themselves obliged to recognize the Libyan side’s great efforts to stop the flow of migration to their countries.” He said.
