The Libyan Telecommunications Holding Company announced on Friday that it has recently thwarted coordinated attacks on a number of the sector’s companies.
According to the company’s statement, the cyber-attacks of the type (blocking - denial of service) were launched against several Libyan companies, which are in fact not new attacks, saying, "The International Telecom Company has always confronted and thwarted them repeatedly."
The statement explained that what is new about these attacks is their increasing intensity and their different types. "They focused on two types of denial-of-service attacks (protocol attacks and application layer attacks), and the data center of the Libyan Telecommunications and Technology Company was the last to be exposed to it." the statement added.
