The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) has denied news about the freezing of Libyan assets by the English Central Bank, adding in a Facebook post that all media outlets should look for credibility and professionalism when they report news.

Libyan media have reported the freezing of three billion pounds (about 18 billion dinars) of the CBL assets in Britain. The media outlets said Britain had tried more than once to get the House of Commons to issue a legislation that would allow using Libyan frozen assets in Britain to compensate victims of the Irish Republic Army (IRA).
