Members of the Political Dialogue Forum's (LPDF) Legal Committee have agreed to hold intensive sessions during this week to reach consensus around the constitutional basis for holding national elections in December of this year.
According to the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), the committee's members presented their proposals regarding the constitutional basis for the national elections on 24 December 2021 during a virtual meeting held on Sunday.
The UN mission hailed what it described as "constructive discussions" of the Legal Committee, stressing the need to move forward towards agreements on specific proposals to be presented to the LPDF.
