Border-cross-conference

Mauritania will host a conference on cross-border cooperation between Libya and the Sahel countries, to counter terrorism, border crimes and organized crime, on May 10-11, as the committee will be composed of representatives from Burkina Faso, Chad, Libya, Mali, Mauritania and Niger, according to Nova News Agency.

“Together, we expect to strengthen regional cross-border cooperation between Libya and Sahel region, exchange good experiences, and identify areas for future improvement at national and regional levels,” Simonetta Silvestri, Head of the Regional Advisory Coordination Cell in Mauritania said.

On the other hand, the European Union Special Representative for the Sahel region, Emanuela Del Rey, stressed the importance of the regional conference on cross-border cooperation between Libya and the Sahel, to further develop the regional dimension and step the dialogue and cooperation between the Sahel countries and Libya.
