The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, has affirmed the Council's commitment to maintain consultations with all parties to achieve a comprehensive political settlement leading to free and fair elections.

During his meeting with the British Ambassador to Libya, Martin Longden, in Tripoli, Menfi said the comprehensive forum would mark a new beginning for tolerance and forgiveness among Libyans.

Ambassador Longden reiterated his country's support for the High Financial Committee as a tool ensuring the fair distribution of resources with disclosure, transparency, and expenditure rationalization.

Both parties discussed the latest political developments and how to advance towards timely presidential and parliamentary elections, in addition to the progress made in the national reconciliation project and preparations for the comprehensive forum scheduled for April this year.
