The Free Zone in Misrata has received the largest container ship in years from the Jebel Ali Port in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The ship measures 300 meters in length and 40 meters in width, featuring the deepest draft to enter the Free Zone port at over 12.5 meters.
The vessel, Flora, carries 5,250 standard TEUs, including 4,481 transit containers, which will be shipped to ports in Hamburg and Hankinsbuttel in Germany, Naples in Italy, Santos in Brazil, and Damietta in Egypt.
The Misrata Free Zone highlighted that, for the first time in several years, a container ship carrying over 3,000 containers has entered Libyan ports with a draft exceeding 12.5 meters.
