Water flows are back to their normal levels after improvements in the power grid, the Man-made River Authority (MMRA) has said.

A power fault at an electricity station in the fields of the Jafara Plain forced the Hasawna water system to undertake an unscheduled water supply interruption on Thursday.

The MMRA said the technical teams of the national electricity company (GECOL) managed to maintain the fault at the source and resume the pumping process.

Meanwhile, the Hasawna system said it would gradually increase production rates and water flow to the water system's tracks and the Tarhuna Bouziane line.

Last Thursday, the MMRA announced a partial suspension of water supplies due to a power outage that it said affected all water wells of the Jafara Plain.
