A local radio presenter in Al-Jufra has been arrested by security forces after taking part in a protest in the central Libyan region.

Renegade General Khalifa Haftar issued a decree on Tuesday, banning the importation of four wheel drive SUVs in the public or private sector, including any individuals that do not possess the consent of what is known as “the General Command”. Haftar explained his decision by stating that only in this way will the supplier be known and the purpose for which these vehicles were imported, according to the text of the resolution published by so-called the Information Office of General Command.

The Italian Foreign Minister, Angelino Alfano, has expressed his country's sympathy and solidarity with the families of the victims of air strikes that targeted civilian site in the eastern city of Derna on Monday evening, leaving a dozen people including women and children dead and wounded. "In front of the causalities caused by the airstrikes on Derna last night, we stand close to the families of the victims in solidarity with the people of Derna." Alfano stated on the Italian Embassy`s official Twitter page. He added "We call for immediate access of humanitarian organizations in order to bring relief to the wounded and deliver the aid needed to alleviate the citizen`s suffering.”

A national conference was held in Gharyan on Tuesday, which was attended by dozens of supporters of the monarchy from all parts of Libya. The participants called for the return of Prince Mohammed al-Hassan al-Reda al-Sennusi to the country as the legitimate heir, demanding the activation of the 1963 constitution, seeing it as the only way out of the current crisis. Those present stressed the need to present their demands to the international community to support this project, especially the United Nations, the European Union, the Arab League and the African Union.

The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya has condemned the aerial bombardment of a farm in Fatayah region, east of Derna, which resulted in the deaths of women and children. The Commission described the incident as a war crime and a violation of international humanitarian law. In a statement, the Commission called on the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to establish an inquiry to investigate the crimes and violations in Libya.

The Mayor of Sirte, Mukhtar Maadani, has held a meeting with the manager of Sirte Port, Mohammed Salem, to discuss the hurdles that hinder the reopening of the port and its return to work after being closed for more than two and a half years. The port manager asked the Municipal Council and relevant authorities to provide the facilities and administrative equipment for the port, and to provide communication equipment needed to make contact with ships. The navigational equipment of the port were looted during the control of ISIS.

The spokesperson for the House of Representatives (HoR), has resumed its suspended meetings in Tobruk. Spokesperson Abdullah Balihiq said that the members discussed the report presented by the Dialogue Committee of the parliament on the second round of the political dialogue meetings in Tunis.

The Libyan Ministry of Health has signed an agreement with the Italian NGO “Emergency”, under which the humanitarian organization will treat Libyan children suffering from congenital heart defects and need to undergo complicated operations. Health Minister, Omar Al-Tahir, said that the agreement would be a way of hope for Libyan children who need complicated heart surgery by providing a good opportunity to treat them. "The signing of this agreement comes from the responsibility of the Ministry of Health to implement policies and plans for the provision of health services to Libyans.” He added.

The Libyan Navy has rescued 299 illegal immigrants off the coast of Zliten on two rubber boats. The Navy said that among the migrants were 40 women and 19 children, adding that humanitarian and medical aid was provided to them. The illegal immigrants were then transferred to the Tripoli Naval Base in the presence of the International Organization for Migration, the High Commission and the International Medical Corps. The immigrants were later handed over to the Tajoura Shelter for Illegal Immigration.
